The band Exodos
was formed in 1998 by founding members George Kostoglou (vocals,
guitar) and Tykos (bass). Sharing a mutual vision, the two
wanted to accomplish something that has never been done successfully
in North America - to write and perform Greek rock music.
After a few months of writing songs, they began recording what was
to become their debut C.D. Since then, Exodos has accomplished
far more than anyone ever anticipated.
2000
- The debut C.D. is released.
- Exodos opens for Zig Zag at the 10,000 seat Kingswood music theatre
at Canada's Wonderland.
- The band opens for Pix Lax on their first North American tour, drawing
incredible reviews.
2001
- The first video, "Den Mporw" is filmed.
- "Ftanei na maste mazi" reaches #3 on the Radio Acropolis

- Exodos receives "Best new artist of the year" award at
the annual Greek Canadian Music Awards
2002
- Current and permanent line up is completed with two of the most
well known Greek musicians in
Toronto, Spyros Gazetos (bouzouki) and Stelios Hois (keyboards, vocals).
Popular drummer Frank
Peluso also joins, and William Kostoglou on percussion.
- Second annual Greek Day at Canada's Wonderland has Exodos as headlining
act. Audience
response is incredible.
- Playing local clubs to Toronto's biggest festivals, the band is
also involved in various fundraising
events, making popular night club Octavia's annual Christmas food
drive a remarkable success.
- Exodos is awarded "Album of the Year" at the Greek Canadian
Music Awards.
2003
- The first New York appearance by Exodos is broadcast by Antenna
1 and aired on the popular
"From New York with Love" show.
- The second C.D. "Anoigw Dromo" is released. Interest in
the band is now generated in Greece.
- The first video from the new album is filmed for the song "Katerina".
- The C.D. release party at the new club Kokkino is another success.
2004
- The group's third video "Skotadia" is filmed.
- Toronto's "Taste of the Danforth" festival is North America's
largest Greek festival, drawing
attendance figures of over a million people annually. Exodos has performed
on the main stage
every year to great response and this year impressed many as one of
the headlining acts.
- EMI releases "The Best Greek Album
Ever" The Exodos
hit "Katerina" is featured.
